F is for Fat Quarters

SummerFQs.jpg

Fabric is normally cut into quarters metres across the fabric, a 9 inch strip but sometimes this is not economical for patchwork so we cut half meters or yards and then cut that strip in half to create two squares, hence fat quarters. Four fat quarters equals a meter or yard!

And don’t we love them? They are so delicious stacked up and tied by ribbon it is often hard to break into them and use them!
