Mel’s Nutella or Orange Truffles
Mel’s Nutella or Orange Truffles
These indulgent treats are perfect for a last minute gift or to serve with coffee after dinner. You can even make the mix in advance and then recruit little helping hands to roll and decorate!
Nutella Truffles
• 300g chocolate, chopped (I use half milk and half dark)
• 2/3 cup double cream
• 1 teaspoon butter
• 3 generous tablespoons Nutella
• Grated chocolate to decorate
Warm the cream in a pan until small bubbles form. Pop the chocolate into a bowl, pour the warm cream over and leave for five minutes.
Whisk the mixture together until chocolate is melted and fully combined. Whisk in Nutella and butter.
Cover and pop in fridge for a couple of hours.
Using a mini ice cream scoop or melon baller, scoop mixture into small balls and roll in finely grated chocolate.
Keep in fridge, remembering to remove ten minutes or so before serving to maximise the flavour.
Orange Truffles
• 300g chocolate, chopped (I like to use half milk and half dark)
• 2/3 cup double cream
• 1 teaspoon orange extract
• Grated chocolate to decorate
Follow step one above
Whisk the mixture together until chocolate is melted and fully combined. Whisk in orange extract.
Refrigerate and finish as above. For special occasions I sometimes finished mine with a sprinkle of edible glitter !
